Xcel is aware of the challenges startups often face when starting their businesses; Xcel is designed to help potential entrepreneurs gain insight into the real world of starting a company by taking them to visit two fast growing companies per day and listening to the CEOs share their startup experience.
Led by Diane Liu, the Senior Partner of Xcel Capital, the members of Xcel Academy will visit Xcel’s portfolio companies to learn start-up strategies from these pioneering entrepreneurs, appreciate their inspiration, vision, as well as their stories on the way of their start-up journeys.
As a “Mini Business School” , Xcel Entrepreneurship Program is held twice a year during the summer and the winter, with each lasting about one week. As of today, Xcel has been held a total of six times in three years, helping more than 300 potential entrepreneurs pursue their dreams.
A number of start-up projects have been funded by Xcel Capital via the Xcel Entrepreneurship Program.

Entrepreneurs need as many opportunities as possible to showcase their companies. Upon successful completion of the International Entrepreneurship Program, Xcel Academy participants will present their businesses at the exclusive Venture Fair and pitch for the opportunity to receive funding from Xcel’s own venture capital fund, as well as potential financing from other members of our investor audience. Successful entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to obtain a Letter of Support from a venture capital fund or a business incubator in attendance who are designated by the Government of Canada under its Start-Up Visa Program.
The Venture Fair provides a concrete opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their business plan, models, and milestones to an investor audience, as well as create Canadian industry partnerships that will take their venture to the next step in development and success.
